Countries in the Race for Covid-19 Vaccine

The Covid-19 vaccine has been in the making for quite a while now. And the progress has very much been taken to another level. The governments of many countries have reached quite far in all their efforts. So much that they are even preparing for a mass vaccination to take place. But in order for a mass vaccination to happen, candidates are required too. This is exactly why countries are going as fast as they can to protect their citizens.

According to a compilation from "Our World in Data", Israel is for the country that is performing the best in this vaccine race. As of January 2, Israel has administered 1.09 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines in total. The vaccinations were started somewhere on 19 December. The reason why Israel is at number one is because they had started negotiation for vaccination supplies much earlier than the rest of the countries.

Eventually, COVID-19 spread all over the world in 2020 and before we knew it, it had gone to such an extent that lockdown had to be implemented and travel restrictions had to be imposed everywhere.

YouTube launched an annual tradition back in 2010, called ‘'YouTube Rewind’', through which YouTube gives tribute to content creators and other people on its platform that have contributed to it. This year, YouTube decided to discontinue the event, due to the difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Contrary to how it sounds, YouTube Rewind has been ridiculed over the years, including back in 2018 when the Rewind video was ironically one of the most disliked videos on YouTube. Nevertheless, YouTube continued to keep the tradition going, considering the intention and thought behind the initiative.

Spain will receive the first doses of Covid-19 vaccines developed by Pfizer

Pfizer, along with its partner company BioNTech successfully developed a vaccine that is proved to be 90% effective against the novel Coronavirus. Since the world is fighting the deadly pandemic for almost a year now, the development of a 50% effective dose would have been a blessing as well. Luckily, we got a 90% effective dose. The world will be desperately waiting for the vaccine doses to be delivered to them as soon as possible, and without any surprise, there are already pre-orders for millions of doses from countries around the globe.

However, Spain's hope to receive the vaccine, first of all, is extremely high because that is what the health minister stated on Tuesday while negotiating a deal with the European Union. The country is likely to get 20 million doses initially, which are more than enough to immunize around 10 million people. Spain's health minister, Salvador Illa, said that the vaccine shots for Covid-19 would be free of cost for the people. Further, he added that by April-May, most of the people in Spain would be immunized against the disease. According to Pfizer, the vaccine is needed to be stored somewhere deep-frozen in order to stay effective.

Americans on Going Back to School and Back to Work

Is the world really ready to get back to work after all the chaos caused by COVID-19? The coronavirus curve may be flattening for most of the countries out there, but the threat is still prevailing and very much real. Although all precautionary measures and SOPs are being taken into account, the reopening of institutions and offices might not be such a good idea after all.

While many people out there are optimistic about things going back to normal, there are people on the pessimistic side as well. While homeschooling kids has been a challenge for parents, they are still not completely affirmative about sending their children to school. Similarly, many employees are uncomfortable about joining their workspaces again.

Exactly how they have been thriving, that is the question.

How the Pandemic Has Affected Education

The global pandemic has altered our lives in so many ways. The lockdown situation has resulted in offices and schools shutting down in various countries across the globe, almost all of them. As a consequence of this lockdown, many companies have asked their employees to work from home. Similarly, schools have arranged online classes to make sure students don't have to deal with educational loss.

For those schools who couldn't arrange online classes, parents have had to spend time homeschooling their children. Homeschooling isn't as easy it sounds. First of all, keeping the child interested is actually the main challenge. Since the environment is at home, it is easier for a child to get distracted. However, this can also mean that you get to spend more time with your child. So that's the positivity that can come out of it.
