How many Americans will get a COVID-19 vaccination?

With several promising COVID-19 vaccines on the horizon including Moderna and Pfizer, many Americans will soon be faced with the decision of whether or not to get vaccinated. 


Harmony Healthcare IT recently surveyed 2,000 Americans from across the country to try and gauge what percentage of Americans would be willing to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.

Only 46% of Americans say they would receive a COVID-19 vaccination as soon as it was made available. 40% said they would get the vaccine but would prefer to see how effective and safe it is before receiving it. Only 14% said they would not get the COVID-19 vaccine.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a scary time for several countries and people from around the world. Even if you haven't known anyone personally who has tested positive for the coronavirus, the pandemic as a whole has had an effect on everyone's lives as they know it. However, as terrible as the COVID-19 pandemic has been in a lot of ways, it's not the deadliest pandemic ever.

Common flu is deemed as not a very big deal for many people in many countries. However, it can get life-threatening in some cases. There are a lot of factors that play a part in making the common flu a fatal disease. There are people with pre-existing conditions, young children, and the elderly who are the most vulnerable to such diseases.


Every year, around 650,000 people around the world lose their lives and succumb to the flu. Most of the death due to flu have occurred in the age range of 65 and above. There are flu shots and vaccinations available to help people in that regard, especially the elders and children. The world has immunized itself, and South Korea ranks on top of the best vaccination rate among OECD countries. Other than that, the US, the UK, Mexico, Brazil, and Australia also rank among the top of the line.
