COVID-19 infections in children of the US

The sad truth about the COVID-19 virus is that it does not have any mercy. People who are weak are prone to go into a critical state more. Children and older people are more at risk to contract the coronavirus because of the weak immune system. A new data analysis shows that the children in the US are contracting the COVID-19 at fast rates.

The rate of infected children is going up to a very terrifying number. In the last five months when we all thought the coronavirus has eased a little, the number of cases has recently gone up. COVID cases per 100,000 children in the US has risen dramatically in this time period. The percentage of total children’s cases has gone from just 2 percent in April to 10.5 percent in September.

The striking number of children’s cases is greater than the entire population’s cases rate over the same time period. These numbers skyrocketed when schools were reopened. Some states saw more children’s cases than the rest. States like Florida had 137 percent of child case increase since July.

The healthcare centers are also reporting severe cases of children coming in the hospitals. There is little to almost no evidence that the virus is less transmittable in children than in adults.
