The tradition of Trick-or-Treat around the World

During this time around the world Halloween is celebrated. One most common tradition followed in the United States and Canada is trick-or-treat which has been there since 1900s. The traditions of children going door to door in search for treats exist in many parts of the world, with one European custom being widely recognized as the precursor of the North American tradition.

If we look back at the Middle Ages, people in the British Isles used to dress up for these holidays and go from one door to the other and perform different scenes. In return, they would receive a thank-you in the form of food and drinks. This tradition still exists in Ireland and Scotland under the name guising and features dressed-up children rather than theater displays.

Halloween is a very fun and spooky season that comes around in late October. It basically sets the mark for the start of winter, and the Christmas vibes start from there. The home décor preparations, costumes, and candies make the Halloween season much more fun.

Due to this reason, there are a lot of Halloween sales on different products so that people can buy them. The Halloween related stuff sales fluctuate every time because there is an uncertain number of people who decide not to celebrate this spooky event. Last year, the Halloween sales numbers were in a bit of disregard as there were a lot of ups and downs in the market. There were about three million fewer people who celebrated Halloween, which means no candies, costumes, or decorations.
