One piece of advice often given to dieters is to eat until you reach satiety — that is, until you feel full. The problem is that different foods can have vastly different effects on hunger and satiety. For example, 200 calories of chicken breast may make you feel full, but it could take 500 calories of cake to have the same effect. Thus, weight loss isn't just about eating until you feel full. It's about choosing the right foods that make you feel full for the least amount of calories.

Gambling is big business internationally. Almost every country in the world has casinos. With the exception of China, most of the countries without casinos are either predominantly Muslim or are remote island nations without the ability to attract many tourists. The United States has more casinos within its borders and on Indian reservations than the next ten countries combined.
Of the five most populated countries - China, India, United States, Indonesia, and Brazil - only the U.S. and India have licensed casinos, and there are only a few in India. Of course, China is a major feeder market for other Asian gambling jurisdictions including the special administrative region of Macau, the Philippines, and South Korea.
The cost of everything is increasing, including our utility bills, but which Americans’ wallets are getting hit the hardest? Find out as this infographic takes a closer look at the cost of electricity across the United States. Which states are paying the most each month, and which are seeing the lowest prices per kilowatt?
You may be surprised to find that the lowest prices don’t always equate to the lowest monthly bill for some states. For example, Louisiana has the lowest electricity prices at 9.74 cents per kilowatt but the average monthly bill there is $115.54, just above the $111.67 national average. This infographic also shares the top ten most and least expensive electricity providers in the nation.
Alaska and Hawaii unsurprisingly have a majority of the most expensive, but you may be surprised to see that New York has a majority of the least expensive providers. How does your state compare to the rest of the country in terms of electricity costs?
Before they filed for bankruptcy, Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. was the fourth-largest investment back in the United States. However, due to their involvement in mortgage origination, the company plummeted hard during the mortgage crisis of 2008. This infographic looks at the 20 largest bankruptcies in American history, including some noteworthy bankruptcies of 2017 and 2018.
Aside from Lehman Brothers' bankruptcy of $691 Billion in 2008, the other companies that round out the top five are Washington Mutual ($327.9 Billion), WorldCom ($103.9 Billion), General Motors ($82.2 Billion), and CIT Group ($71 Billion).
Every company has a story with these bankruptcies. With WorldCom's, for example, it was the third-largest bankruptcy, which happens on July 2nd, 2002, and was triggered by a $4 Billion accounting scandal. Auditors had found that there were fraudulent accounting methods being used as a way to cover up the decreasing stock prices that WorldCom was facing at the time.
The Harris Poll’s Reputation Quotient evaluates the reputation of the 100 most visible U.S. companies each year according to the general public. To determine what the 100 most visible companies are, 6,118 U.S. adults are surveyed. Then, company ratings (about 300 per company) are collected from 18,228 adults. Six categories are evaluated: vision and leadership, financial performance, products and services, emotional appeal, social responsibility, and workplace environment.
Wegmans Food Markets has earned first place as the most reputable company in 2015 and 2019. It ranks #1 in ethics, culture, products and services, and citizenship. The survey also discovered that freshness and wellness are becoming more valued by consumers than convenience and processing. Fifty-nine percent of the public desire companies to make an impact on good health and well-being.
This zeitgeist explains why healthy supermarkets like Wegmans and Publix and active lifestyle brands such as Patagonia and L.L. Bean are prevailing in public opinion. Amazon ranks #1 for growth, #2 for products and services, #1 for business trajectory, and #1 for vision. The public also believes that Amazon has the most momentum.
Back pain can cost more than you think. It costs money, energy, and your quality of life. It’s a part of our body that we use every day in every activity so it is important to understand how to prevent injury or discomfort. While back pain is the leading cause of disability worldwide, it can be remedied and/or prevented if recognized early enough.
The main causes of injury include lifting overly heavy objects, repeating the same movements, and inactivity. It’s easy to repeat common posture mistakes, especially as Americans are working longer hours than ever and our bodies naturally slouch or crane forward if we aren’t careful. There are around 264 million days of work lost each year due to back pain, costing lost wages, productivity, and medical bills. Back pain also can affect mood, appetite, and the ability to do everyday activities.
Paying attention to posture, modifying repetitive tasks, and exercising regularly are key to fending off back pain. If you need extra help, make an appointment with your doctor or use specialized apps that help with treatment and prevention methods. Learn more about the surprising costs of back pain and what can be done to prevent it with the infographic below.
Businesses have recently embraced pet culture. With nearly 393 million pets nationwide, it’s obvious why. Rok Straps made stretchable leashes for dogs that like to pull, using the same materials as their stretch cargo straps. Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, and Coach all make high-fashion designs for dogs. Stores also cater to pets by having special pet areas, local events, and even holidays.
Tractor Supply Co. host adoption events for local animal rescues and offers discount vaccinations and wellness clinics. Some fast-food restaurants even have a secret special menu for pets. Dairy Queen’s Pup Cup is a dish of vanilla soft-serve, topped with a dog treat. Americans greatly value their pets when in 2018 Americans spent $72 billion on their pets and were willing to give up eating out, vacations, and even saving for retirement.

It’s not easy identifying squirrel poop; there is nothing distinctive about them. Often, people will confuse squirrel poop with rat poop. However, one way you could distinguish the two is by their location. Most of the time, squirrel poop will be found at the base of a tree where they are nesting, or under bird feeders.
Most seniors are aware that being active is good for them. While being aware is a good thing, many seniors practice it by walking whenever they can. Moreover, many of them even measure their steps using their cell phones or wearable activity trackers. In addition, some of the more competitive minded, even aim for 10,000 (about five miles) to 15,000 steps rationalizing that the more the better for their health. However, is that really true?
