American Cities Graded on Cleanliness

Have you ever wondered if your city is cleaner or dirtier than other cities? Thanks to a new graphic from Oxi Fresh, you can now see an official cleanliness score. They used seven criteria to give each city a score out of 100. These included population density, rodent and cockroach infestations, vandalism, litter, and air and water quality. Their graphic allows us to see specific scores in each category. The cleanest cities overall were these:

When choosing to move to a new state, people with disabilities must consider factors that others might not consider. This can include employment rates for people with disabilities, housing options, weather conditions, accessibility laws, the number of public spaces with accommodations, and other vital features. The team at AAA State of Play used a comprehensive system of factors to rank every state based on disability. Some states truly excelled, but others lagged behind, some even scoring zero points in some categories studied.

The AAA State of Play team offers us a new way to think about America’s top cities, with this map highlighting the most “playful” cities. The team used some fun and fascinating metrics to score the playfulness of cities. Fifty cities were judged using a scoring system that used 10 factors.

How long will it take for the countries to return to normal?

The Covid-19 has impacted the countries in ways more than anyone could ever imagine. In order to determine that how long would it take for different countries to return to the pre-COVID levels, Ipsos conducted a survey. The infographic paints a picture based on the survey results and according to it, less than a quarter of respondents from nearly 30 different countries expect to get back to normal within six months. Around 34 percent of people from different countries believe that the Covid-19 restrictions won’t be dismissed anytime soon in 12 months whereas, around 8 percent of the respondents are hopeless and believe that life would never go back to normal as pre-pandemic levels.

Out of several countries, the most negative responses were received from the countries including, Spain, South Korea, Italy, France, and Japan. Almost two-thirds of the Japanese respondents believe that the Covid-19 restrictions will stay in place for more than a year. Moreover, votes for “things would never return to normal” were also received the highest in number by Japanese people.

The recent sequence of events has caused most people to limit their social gatherings to only a few people and places. The foremost priority of the people is now cut down to strict precautions and protection measures against coronavirus and its horrendous effects. While many countries have opened their traveling gates for people after ensuring a healthy and safe environment, there remains an element of fear inside people to leave their homes and participate in such leisure activities. Similarly, the chart emphasizes that most Americans have refused to step out of their homes and take part in activities about entertainment, adventure, and fitness.

The data from infographic reveals that most of the people from around the world have similar patterns for daily activities. Sleep, work, eat, leisure – this is what we observe from the majority of the people, but the time given to each activity differs from country to country. A healthy life requires enough hours for rest and self-care, you cannot spend your entire time on work and drain all the energy you had. Let’s see in what ways are the time spending trends similar and different in various countries.

The chart below shows the estimated times for common activities that an average person does in a single day. Without any surprise, almost everyone splits their day in ‘work, rest and fun’ however, some give more time to work, some prefer a comfortable and good night sleeps whereas others like to stay in their PJs and enjoy as much as they can. Paid work, house chores, eating, sleeping and leisure, all of it combined take around 80-90% of the total time we have in our day, which is 1440 minutes.
