Where do people from different countries spend most of their time?

The data from infographic reveals that most of the people from around the world have similar patterns for daily activities. Sleep, work, eat, leisure – this is what we observe from the majority of the people, but the time given to each activity differs from country to country. A healthy life requires enough hours for rest and self-care, you cannot spend your entire time on work and drain all the energy you had. Let’s see in what ways are the time spending trends similar and different in various countries.

The chart below shows the estimated times for common activities that an average person does in a single day. Without any surprise, almost everyone splits their day in ‘work, rest and fun’ however, some give more time to work, some prefer a comfortable and good night sleeps whereas others like to stay in their PJs and enjoy as much as they can. Paid work, house chores, eating, sleeping and leisure, all of it combined take around 80-90% of the total time we have in our day, which is 1440 minutes.
One common thing that we found in the infographic is that everyone prefers an eight-hour-long sleep no matter what. But, South Korea seems to be the one with the least sleep of 7 hours and 51 minutes. On the other hand, people in the USA and India are likely to have an extra hour of sleep on an average, i.e., 8 hours and 48 minutes.

Paid work is another important activity for the people around the globe, in China and Mexico, people spend around 5 hours on work which is twice the time that people in France and Italy spend on work. According to the chart, among the countries, there is a difference in one activity but the similarity in other. For example, in the UK, people spend more time on their work than people in France; however, people in both countries spend the same amount of time on leisure activities.

Turkey stands out with the most leisure time, i.e., 369 minutes whereas in contrast, people of Mexico spend as less as 172 minutes on leisure activities.
