Our Future Needs Asphalt

In December of 2021, asphalt officially became the most recycled material on the planet. Produced from distilling crude oil, the substance is temperature resistant, strong, and binds with a slew of other materials, making it productive for manufacturing roof shingles, roadways, parking lots, and waterproof surfaces among other essential things.

Canada becomes the biggest supplier of Petroleum and Crude oil, and here is why

When you find yourself in the position to determine a country’s market, you must pay attention to the products that are shipped off out of that country and into the others. Exporting and importing have been two of the biggest drivers of the economic world; if a country succeeds in making enough products so that others could benefit from it, then it certainly has something to celebrate in the future. Canada, being the biggest producer of crude oil, has become one of the biggest exporters by earning $3.5 million for each barrel.

How is that possible? And how does it tie into the COVID-19 oil price crash in general?

Why Oil Prices Fluctuate
Most of us greet the news that oil has fallen to $50 a barrel with a shrug of our shoulders. It goes up, it goes down; no one dies. We fail to engage because we don’t understand what drives it either way, or how it affects us. As with all commodities, supply and demand plays a big part in its price. It peaked in 2008, but the subsequent global downturn saw it experience one of the sharpest drops in history.
