PayPal will support cryptocurrency payments from today

PayPal had been planning to start its support for the cryptocurrency payments for a few months and finally from today, it has officially announced to allow the users to pay with their Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum or Bitcoin Cash. The online payment is made super easy via the app as a dedicated “Checkout with Crypto” option is available.

Currently, the feature is rolled out for US users only. Back in November, PayPal enabled its users to buy or sell cryptocurrency directly through their accounts and from today, the US users will be able to convert their Bitcoin, Litecoin or Ethereum cryptocurrency to Bitcoin cash or Us dollars with a few taps. Moreover, they won’t be charged a single penny as transaction fees.

There won’t be any need to manually enable this feature and once a user has enough crypto balance in their account to be eligible for the feature, PayPal wallet will automatically show the feature. However, PayPal is not the first company to allow users to use their cryptocurrency for payments. One of its competitor, Square, back in 2018 rolled out the support for Bitcoin on the Cash App. But, support to make payment through cryptocurrency makes PayPal stand out among others and also makes it the largest digital wallet and cryptocurrency exchange.
