A Long Life: Essential Body Hacks

Fitness is essential to good living. Maintaining and being fit isn't just about going to the gym and having a good figure. It is also linked to the activities you do on a daily basis. Since everything is connected, so are your body and mind. Taking caring of your body by being mindful of other activities, can lead to both a longer and a happier life.
Regarding the connection between the body and mind, there are five key areas that need to be taken care of:
1. Insulin Levels
High insulin levels need to be avoided, as they are linked to higher risks of heart disease, cancer and obesity. Such high levels of insulin can cause the body to crave for sugar and get hungry from time to time. Mentally, this can lead to fatigue, anxiety attacks and lack of concentration.

2. Chronic Stress
One of the most important things. You may feel stressed sometimes because of any kind of pressure, but when this stress becomes chronic, that is when you know it has gotten out of hand. Experienced over a long time, chronic stress is direct threat to the heart and your blood pressure. While your stress hormones try to tackle the feelings of being under pressure, the heart starts working too hard. This can also originate heart attack risks.

3. Sleep Cycle
The modern life is busy and noisy, many people don't even get to sleep properly. The condition of having a lack of sleep or having trouble sleeping is known as Insomnia. In fact, your sleeping habits are in control of your lifestyle more than you think.  Again, this poses a risk for heart diseases, as well as diabetes.

4. Physical Activity
If you don't move your body, then not only will you become lazy but lethargy will eventually become a habit. It's not necessary to go to the gym. Simple things can be very fruitful - like going for a walk outside or even exercising at home during this lockdown period. Again, it effects the heart, blood pressure and almost every part and organ of your body.

5. Relaxation
Going outside is highly unlikely in these times of pandemic, but who says that you can't do yoga in your room? There are a lot of ways to relax and take things easy. Read a book, listen to music, watch films. There's so much to look forward to in life. Enjoy every moment of it and your mind will reward your body.

What you eat and what you think, literally everything can help manage all the above. Remember, it's not really that hard to take care of yourself. All of you have to do is think less and live more, keep things simple.
