Otter is Rolling out an AI Chatbot in Channels to Assist Users in Improved Teamwork - Visualistan -->

    Social Items

Automated transcription service Otter is launching an AI feature called ‘AI Chat in Channels,’ to its group chat functionality ‘Channels.’ Channels work pretty much like Slack chats, where people can connect with frequent collaborators and share transcripts with each other.

With the help of the new AI integration, groups will be able to ask a chatbot questions related to their older meetings. The chatbot will then gather information from all the meetings that group members have participated in, and generate answers to the prompts asked.

The reason why this AI functionality is unique is because unlike other AI chatbots that are commonly found in single-user chats, it allows multiple people to ask it questions, hence enabling faster team work. Moreover, Otter is increasing the extent of meetings that the AI chatbot can draw data from. Previously, within a specific transcript, the chatbot could only respond to questions about that single meeting / conversation. Now, the bot can collect data from all prior meetings and transcripts of the user.

Lastly, Otter is also introducing an AI conversation summary feature that is capable of identifying action items during an ongoing meeting. Other generative AI features that Otter has added to its platform in the past include a chatbot that attends meetings for users, and a meeting summary generator in transcripts.

All of Otter’s AI features will be available to users as part of its free Basic plan.
