Email Marketing Optimization Hacks & Case Studies

Although there are many marketing channels at your disposal, email is arguably the most powerful strategy for both B2B and B2C advertisers. This cost-effective solution enables you to reach potential customers in the place they visit every day—their inbox. However, it’s not enough to just send emails from time to time. Your potential customers receive dozens of emails per day but open only a small part of them and engage with even fewer.

To provide you with the most accurate email marketing tips and help you get the most out of your email marketing campaign, we’ve created the infographic below to provide you with the most efficient hacks, supported by case studies.Usually, it’s the subject line that’s the deciding factor here if you don’t want your email to be deleted or marked as spam. For example, 47% of email marketing recipients open emails based on the subject line, and 69% of people report emails as spam based on the subject line.

The trick is to create a subject line that will make people feel that the email will benefit them. “Money Dashboard” created one of the best email marketing campaigns and boosted clicks by 228% by using a creative subject line. More specifically, they conveyed a sense of mystery for a survey invitation email. They tested these two subject lines: A) “What’s your opinion here (first name)?” and B) “Please put us out of our misery.”

Why You Should Repair Your Broken Smartphones

Cell phones guide American life. When our phones don’t work, we tend to get lost. Since 1973, cellular phones have been the fastest growing technology phenomenon ever, causing there to be nearly 1.3 billion more mobile connections than there are people in the world. In fact, 95% of Americans in 2018 owned a cell phone.

Many people own multiple devices, normalizing the necessity for a current mobile device. 2 in 3 people have admitted to anxiety when away from their phone, suffering from FOMO and Nomophobia. Saying this, in 2018, the average lifespan of a cell phone before replacement was 2.9 years and Americans throw away 350,00 cell phones per day. Why are people replacing pricey technology when you can repair it for less?

This infographic outlines the benefits of repairing broken phone screens and batteries, as well as the methods on learning how. Our phones are our lives. Be smart about caring for them to prevent wasting money on annual upgrades.

Doing It Their Way: Gen Z And Entrepreneurship

A new generation is starting to enter the workforce, and the office as you know it could be about to change dramatically. Generation Z — people born after 1996 — is about to hit the working world in a big way. Consulting firm Bridge Works estimates that Gen Z accounts for 61 million people in the U.S., a number that’s already larger than Generation X and two-thirds the size of the baby boomers. Gen Zers have lived a much different life than their parents and millennials.

They’re a generation that, in many cases, can’t remember a life without a smartphone in their hand — and they have no memory of the 9/11 attacks, beyond the classroom. As a result, companies looking to recruit and retain them may need to adjust their tactics.

The Future is Now: AI for Evil vs AI for Good

In business settings, AI augmentation reduces the mundane and repetitive tasks we do on a daily basis, helping to free up our valuable creative energies. By 2021, this will generate almost $3 trillion for businesses and account for 6.2 billion hours of worker productivity. As a force for good, we look to AI to help us be safer, learn smarter, and work more efficiently — but not everyone has good motivations for AI. From authoritarian governments, to propaganda, to fueling social divides, AI is only as good as our intentions.

Changes in the Workforce

Several developments have been important contributors to the labor force changes of the past few decades. Among such factors are the completion of the entry of the baby boom generation into the workforce and the impact of the smaller birth cohort that followed the baby boomers into the workforce.

In addition, the continued entry of women into the labor force over the past few decades has profoundly affected the distribution of men and women in the workforce. The third important workforce development over the past few decades has been the increased immigration of Asians and Hispanics into the United States and their subsequent entry into the workforce.

Sixty-seven percent of employers can’t find qualified candidates for their open positions. From time spent searching for talent to lost revenue, the tech skills gap is affecting businesses across the nation, and it’s only expected to grow. I recently spoke with Josh Westfall, Senior Manager of Policy and Programs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Center for Education and Workforce, to discuss the tech skills gap.

The Center for Education and Workforce (CEW) is a grant-funded nonprofit organization, that mobilizes the business community to be more engaged partners, challenge the status quo, and move education and workforce initiatives forward that will fuel economic success.

US Army establishes esports team to connect with young people

In the latest case of "How do you do, fellow kids?" the US Army has announced it's building an esports team as part of its marketing and engagement programme. According to a post by Staff Sergeant Ryan Meaux on Reddit (via Stars and Stripes), a team of soldiers will represent the US Army in competitions across the nation in order to "create awareness about the army and the opportunities it provides". Alongside their competitive duties, it also sounds like members will function as part-time QA testers for army apps and training software.
