Sony’s PlayStation Store will remain shut on the 2nd of July for the PlayStation 3 and on the 27th of august for Vita, meaning that people won’t be able to get digital copies of the games or DLC for the PS3 and Vita devices. Moreover, the company is ending the remaining purchase functionality for its PlayStation Portable (PSP) on July 2nd.

We are just a month away from the launch of the next generation of consoles. Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X are lined up for the most anticipated release of next month. A few weeks ago, Microsoft acquired ZeniMax Media, which is a big company in the gaming world. The most notable publisher is Bethesda Softworks, a children company of ZeniMax Media. Bethesda Studios is very significant in the gaming world. With such hit games like The Elder Scrolls, Fallout and DOOM, it has made a name for itself over the years. Microsoft now owns its parent company and is now showing a promising future for its console.

Microsoft acquires ZeniMax Media: The second largest buyout in video game industry

Microsoft has made a name for itself in the gaming industry now. With its exclusive AAA games and a gaming console Xbox, it has charted its course in the gaming world. Recently, Microsoft has acquired ZeniMax Media, a video game holding company with a more notable publisher, Bethesda Softworks.


The acquisition of ZeniMax Media is reported to be of $7.5 billion, which is the second largest acquisition in video game industry’s history. Microsoft is clearly making a statement that it is serious about the future of gaming platforms. The deal hasn’t completed just yet, but it is just a matter of time when it is finished. ZeniMax Media’s largest money-maker, Bethesda Softworks has produced a number of superhit games such as, Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Doom.

Sony Unveils a Next-Gen Price War with its New PS5 Digital Edition

Last week had been a thrill for video gamers. Not only did Sony reveal its PlayStation 5, but it announced that the PS5 will have two models. A classic one and a digital one, which will not include the 4K Blu-ray drive. This goes by the name of PS5 Digital Edition. The pricing for both the editions is yet to be announced but it seems pretty clear that the digital edition will be less costly than its hardware-frenzy counterpart.
