Facebook announced in its latest blogpost that it is planning to invest over $1 billion in programs for creators on Facebook and Instagram by the end of 2022. “We want to reward creators, especially those who are just starting out, for creating content their communities love,” the post reads.

The social media giant’s investment will include new bonus programs to pay creators for achieving certain milestones, as well as seed funding for creators to produce their content.

As for the bonus programs, Facebook intends to reward creators and help them understand the performance dynamics of their content. These programs will be seasonal and will also evolve and expand over time, according to Facebook. The company specified that it is planning to launch bonuses within the Instagram app this summer and within the Facebook app in fall.

The bonus opportunities by invitation on Facebook will include Instream Bonus and Star Bonus, both of which will help creators make more money, while also learning how to create monetizable content. The In-Stream Bonus makes use of in-stream ads to pay bonus over the next four months to select video creators. Star Bonus, on the other hand, is an expansion of Facebook’s Star Challenge program, which will reward select creators with monthly bonus for hitting specific Stars milestones over the next three months.

Lets take a look at the bonus opportunities for creators on Instagram now. These include IGTV ads bonus, badges in Live bonus, and Reels Summer bonus. Creators can earn from the IGTV ads bonus by signing up for IGTV ads, which will yield a one-time bonus in the form of revenue share when ads run during videos. The badges in Live bonus will reward creators with badges when they hit certain milestones, like going Live with another account. Lastly, with the Reels Summer bonus, creators will be rewarded for creating great Reels content, based on the performance of their Reels.
