Android apps using the Android Exposure Notifications System
to track the spread of COVID-19 have been facing some issues lately and Google
is investigating the problem. The issue is causing hinderance in the apps’
functioning, such as taking longer to load or conducting regular exposure checks.
The problem is reportedly affecting all apps worldwide that use the Android Exposure Notifications System. The NHS COVID-19 app used across England and Wales is also affected by this Android issue. More than 10 people have downloaded the COVID-19 tracking app in England and Wales.
The engineers at Google are trying to identify the source of
the problem and fix it as soon as possible, according to a Google spokesperson.
