LinkedIn has announced that is testing ads in LinkedIn Stories
with a limited number of advertisers. The company had rolled out Stories back
in September.
According to LinkedIn, Stories Ads are meant to help brands
extend their reach to communities using video and image ads. The company says
that it has had over 600 advertisers activate campaigns with positive
performance in clicks, views and cost metrics.
LinkedIn Stories ads are further aimed at allowing marketers to utilize LinkedIn’s range of tools related to ad targeting in order to reach specific audiences.
However, LinkedIn hasn’t revealed much about the feedback
that it has received for Stories. This data would be important to advertisers
as they should know the statistics of LinkedIn Stories usage, engagement, and
response.
Considering the lack of insight that the company could
provide to advertisers to help them with performance measurement, it could be
assumed that Stories are perhaps not being used as much on LinkedIn. Therefore,
this could be a hinderance for advertisers to avail the LinkedIn Stories Ads
feature.
LinkedIn is currently running a beta test of the feature and
plans to launch it on a large scale next year.
