Facebook will retest the Instagram Lite application in India after relaunching

Instagram Lite is a less data-intensive version of the application, which was launched worldwide; however, Facebook discontinued the app back in July. Instagram Lite is as small as 2MB only that can run smoothly on low-storage devices. However, the social media giant relaunched the app in India and will begin the tests for the insights and other revamped features prior to the global release of the lighter version of Instagram.

Instagram Lite, though lacks a few important features such as IGTV, Shopping, and Reels. Lite apps are top-rated in markets where the majority of the users don't have high-end smartphones and expensive 3G or 4G data to run heavy applications. Hence, Lite applications are the go-to apps for them. For example, the Facebook Lite app had a family of 40 million users from India alone as per the previous month's records, whereas 13 million active users on Messenger Lite were recorded. Talking about the photo and video sharing app, Instagram, the company had 164 million users last month.
India is the world's second-largest internet market after the USA, with 560 million active users and the largest Facebook market by users. Instagram announced another version of 'Born on Instagram', which is a one-year-old program to discover talent in India and for content creators who are eager to learn better ways of collaboration and understand the monetization process.

Facebook believes that the relaunch of Instagram Lite and the second version of Born on Instagram is an effective strategy to democratize creativity for the people of India.
