Rolling in Wealth: World's Richest People

How much of power and control lies in the hands of the world's wealthiest people? Rolling in riches, these people rule over $76 billion. Technology is responsible for skyrocketing all these people onto wealthy positions, since most of these individuals are technopreneurs. Whether its software production or e-commerce, the scope of technology was already at peak before COVID-19, and now during the global pandemic, people have made more money thanks to e-commerce and other technological sectors.

The coming of COVID-19 has seen an addition to the list of world's richest men. As a consequence of the global pandemic, video calling has increased for both personal as well as professional services. On the top of this newcomer list, is the name of Eric Yuan, the founder of Zoom. According to the Visual Capitalist, Zoom is now worth more than the world's 7 biggest airlines.

The list is ruled by Jeff Bezos, who is on the top during this pandemic period, as Amazon makes an additional $24 billion. He is also at the top of the overall wealthiest list, which comprises solely of men. This too has been a result of COVID-19. Due to lockdown and Amazon's huge directory of products and services, its sales have only increased drastically in 2020. Not only is Jeff Bezos at the top in the list of overall 10 wealthiest people, but he also remains at the top in the tech business list.

A notable name amongst the wealthiest women is that of Alice Walton. She is not a technopreneur or in any way associated with technology. She owns a private art collection that is worth $500 million. This sets her apart as tech businesses rule at the top of most of such lists, but her niche is entirely different.
