Over the years, we have seen numerous health scare hit the
global population. From bird flu to Ebola, the world has faced and somewhat
managed to conquer them as well. However, the recent outbreak of the
Coronavirus has baffled the government and health authorities equally.
Hailing from the Wuhan district of China, the Coronavirus is
a contagious disease that comes from contact with animals. In fact, most
individuals affected by the illness are workers or frequent shoppers of seafood
wholesale markets in China. But as a result of travel from mainland China, the epidemic
has spread rapidly to over 28 countries with at least 80,000 diagnoses.
Unfortunately, continuous efforts from health experts worldwide
to control the illness have yield zero results. Several countries have also
imposed travel restrictions to and from China, impacting the country’s economic
relationship significantly.
But despite the chaotic situation, Americans are confident
with the government’s ability to handle the outbreak with success. Gallup
recently conducted a survey in this regard where they asked a number of
participants if the government can contain the virus effectively. In their response,
77% agreed that the latest health scare can be managed.
