TikTok has released a new business promotion feature ‘InteractiveAdd-Ons’ for businesses on its platform. These include stickers, pop-ups, and other visual elements displayed in users’ For You feed ads that prompt potential customers to engage with the ads.
According to TikTok, “Viewers who have shared, liked, or commented on a TikTok brand video are 150% more likely to buy a product or service.” Interactive Add-Ons could therefore contribute to a business’ sales by enticing more customers to engage with a brand’s in-feed promotions. The reason behind the efficacy of Interactive Add-Ons is that these features create an immersive environment that is likely to catch users’ undivided attention.
The Add-Ons are available in two types: Standard and Premium, each consisting of tools that serve a brand differently depending on its requirements. More specifically, Standard Add-Ons would cater to lower-funnel marketing goals such as driving clicks and conversions. Premium Add-Ons, on the other hand, are meant to help reach upper-funnel goals like brand awareness and community building.
Options included in the Standard Add-On package include Display Card, Gift Code Sticker, Voting Sticker and Countdown Sticker. Premium Add-Ons include the following: Pop-out Showcase, Gesture, and Super Like 2.0.
Display Cards can be used to visually highlight important messages, share offers, or drive traffic to a business’ website or app. Gift Code Stickers are special incentives that can be offered to a brand’s existing customer base and simultaneously attract new customers. Voting Stickers can help brands connect with their audiences via polls, quizzes, or surveys to collect feedback. Lastly, Countdown Stickers can be used to create hype around a brand’s ongoing and upcoming events.
As for Premium features, Pop-out Showcase helps a business’ product stand out and prompts people to engage with the ad. Gestures are surprises that lead users to participate with a brand’s ad, upon which they are shown a clickable display card revealing a reward that drives them to the brand’s landing page. Finally, the Super Like 2.0 tool generates attractive icons floating around when users engage with an ad, followed by a pop-up card that drives them to the brand’s landing page.
