Creators on TikTok are given a new audience setting option
that they can use to limit audience aged below 18 years from viewing their
content.
This means that sexually provocative content that complies with TikTok’s guidelines and may yet be unsuitable for younger audiences can be hidden from them. TikTok previously announced the same age limitation option for livestreams, so creators could restrict underage users from joining their streams containing mature content.
Of course, limiting mature or sexually suggestive content
from being viewed by underage users wouldn’t allow creators to post content containing
nudity or other violative images. Moreover, content that contains implied
nudity, for instance, is allowed on the app but is blocked from reaching For
You pages, according to TikTok.
