Life moves fast, we are busy people in my house and that’s why there’s street food! Okay, that may not be the real reason, but it’s a high on the list reason why it’s my favorite type of food. There’s nothing better than taking a ride on a hot day, hand out the open window and a whiff of amazing food aroma fills the car. My nose acts like a radar to the food trucks every time. Growing up in New Haven, CT there was such a thing called ‘food truck pier’. This is where there would be food trucks parked daily for people to try food from each of them. Reading this list from the team at How Long to Cook Calculator of the 55 most beloved street foods from around the world brought some nostalgia to mind. It brought me back to Yanni’s food truck. Yanni’s was a Mexican food truck that I frequented every Tuesday after I finished my classes at college. I would get a chicken tamale. To this day about 10 years later, I still have had nothing like those tamales. I could see why tamales made this list. Not only are they fast, handheld and filling, they taste AMAZING. The flavors of Mexico are some of my favorites.
