The thermal energy generated and stored in the Earth is known as Geothermal energy. It is used to the temperature of Earth’s matter. Now, geothermal heating is the direct utilization of geothermal energy for heating purposes.

There are numerous benefits of geothermal heating and as shown in the infographic, the use of earth’s energy is way more efficient than using artificially generated energy. Several countries of the world make direct use of geothermal energy.

Asia has been the largest continent to make the maximum use of geothermal energy in 2019 i.e., 53.39 percent with China accounting for 43.44 percent of the total geothermal heating. Whereas, Europe uses 25.94 percent and North America 16.80 percent of the direct geothermal energy.
