Facebook Releases ‘Miniplayer’ for its App in Collaboration with Spotify - Visualistan -->

Facebook has partnered with Spotify and has released a miniplayer for its News Feed. As a result, users can play Spotify music and podcasts within Facebook’s app. Users can share content from Spotify to Facebook and then play the music while scrolling through Facebook.

The feature will initially be available in 27 markets, including the US, before rolling out globally. It is being launched for both iOS and Android.

Videos shared on Facebook that have music playing in the background will also show the miniplayer when the video has finished, where you can then play the song. Once the song ends, Spotify will continue playing it on shuffle.

The miniplayer will also consist of ads from Spotify for users who have free access to the feature. Facebook will reportedly receive limited data from these ads, such as subscription type and metrics to evaluate the miniplayer’s performance.
