For everyone who spends even a little of their time on the internet, they have likely come across some of these most visited websites at least once in their life. Out of 50 top visited websites in 2020 mentioned in the infographic, three of them have gained dominance over the years, including Google in the lead with 92.5 billion monthly visits followed by YouTube and Facebook with 34.6 and 25.5 billion visits per month, respectively.
These top three most visited websites account for around 152 billion visits, which outpace the rest 47 websites visits combined. Since most of the world’s trends in 2020 have emerged due to the Covid-19 pandemic and migration to digital technology, the incredible number of visits on the search engine, online streaming, and social media giants are somewhat justified.
According to 36 percent of users, Facebook is their first source of getting the latest news. The social media giant company is a family of about 2.7 billion people, and its users spend 34 minutes on an average on the website daily.
Other big tech websites in the list include Facebook-owned Instagram and WhatsApp with 6.1 billion and 3.1 billion visits each month in 2020. Moreover, the pandemic resulted in the increased demand for the free video calling application, Zoom; the website ranks at 15th position and received nearly 2.7 billion monthly visitors. TikTok, the most loved short video application in various parts of the world, holds 43rd rank with 663.2 million visits.
There are numerous more top visited websites belonging to different categories, which you can see in the infographic below. However, the most prominent category that had the most visitors includes social networking and online communities.
