Amazon to increase its transportation services by adding used commercial jets

Amazon, being the most popular company for delivering goods worldwide, has announced the addition of used commercial jets to its present set of sources. To offer a deeper look into the picture, Amazon Global Air’s vice president Sarah Rhoads stated, “Our goal is to continue delivering for customers across the U.S. in the way that they expect from Amazon, and purchasing our own aircraft is a natural next step toward that goal,... Having a mix of both leased and owned aircraft in our growing fleet allows us to better manage our operations, which in turn helps us to keep pace in meeting our customer promises.” In the year 2016, the company introduced its Air fleet services to accelerate its delivery process around the world. However, the necessity for speedy delivery got even more serious when Covid-19 banned outdoor activities for people, shifting the entire load onto platforms like Amazon. To meet the requirements and serve better services to the customers in moving goods from one place to another, Amazon added used jets to be operated by its third-party carriers.

The transportation giant is expected to gain access to 85 aircraft by the time we step into the year 2022. Currently, there are over millions of people engaged with the platform, and considering the speed with which this giant is becoming a commercial source for people stuck in their homes, it is safe to say that its status will conquer the top position in the market very soon.
