Podcasts have gained enormous popularity in the past few years; however, there are still some marketers who believe that podcasts are overhyped, but it won’t affect its popularity. Every year, millions of people are attracted to the podcasts, and the publishers actively keep on posting different yet exciting new content for the viewers.
One of the most leading music streaming companies, Spotify is the biggest contributor to podcasts, and the company has itself noticed that their podcasts have made a massive impact on the entertainment world. According to the reports, the music giant spent around $600 million in 2019 in order to acquire the podcast business.
According to the infographic attached below, iHeartRadio interestingly managed to be in the number 1 position with the most number of downloads and streams, i.e., 266.1 million in a single month of October. NPR settles at the second position with 219.1 million downloads and streams in the previous month followed by New York Times at third with 155.2 million.
