The treatment for colonoscopy uses a flexible tube on the tip which has a light and miniature TV monitor. Sometimes referred to as the "finder," this device is positioned in the rectum and advanced through the colon. It is linked to a television monitor that monitors your doctor while you are doing the examination. Specific miniaturized instruments may be inserted through the scope to help your doctor obtain biopsies (tissue samples) and show the colon lining to diagnose the disease.

Our staff will ask demographic questions including details about your medical insurance, as well as some specific questions to ensure that we are scheduling you properly. For most people, bowel preparation is the part of the process they most fear, but rest assured that bowel preparations have improved over the years and have become easier to use.
