Artificial Objects and Space Junk That Humankind Has Left on Extra-Terrestrial Surfaces
Pollution is something most people think of as a global problem. When was the last time you thought of pollution on the moon or Mars? Chances are, this is the first time! The fact is, since mankind has begun exploring our solar system, we’ve left behind hundreds of thousands of pounds of “space junk” on other planets and moons. That’s right:

There is currently more than 476,000 pounds’ worth of man-made objects on other celestial bodies as we speak! As you might have guessed, the moon is the most-littered celestial body, with more than 413,000 pounds of junk, including the Luna 2 rover, rockets, and other objects. There are even family photos, boots, and pins on the surface of the moon! In addition, there are artificial objects currently on Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn’s moon, Titan.

This infographic from Alan's Factory Outlet (a metal garage company that can be found at AlansFactoryOutlet.com) details some of the space junk we’ve left behind in our continuing quest to learn more about our solar system. Enjoy!
