Selective breeding is a process often used by breeders to create purebred dogs with seemingly perfect characteristics, making the ‘perfect’ dog which is more desirable to the public and easier for them to sell. However, this process originally started thousands of years ago with the grey wolf, gradually evolving to create all of the most common dog breeds we have today. It may be hard to imagine that your tiny Jack Russell could have evolved from such a vicious, man-hunting predator such as the wolf, but it’s true. So here at helpucover, we created this infographic to show how this has come to be. Through identifying how some of the most popular dog breeds of today have evolved over time from the original grey wolf.
