It is a snapshot of the ageing population in Ireland today.1.4 million Irish people will be aged 65 or over by 2041.50% or more of female children born today in Ireland may live to be 100 years of age or older.51% of people aged 75 and over are affected by arthritis.37% of older adults are affected by hypertension, the most prevalent cardiovascular condition.Nearly one in two older adults provide care to their grandchildren and more than one in two provide practical household help to their adult children.
