While most countries hold some sort of ceremony for high school graduates, not everyone does. When it comes to finishing high school, students in Germany consider it business as usual. Instead of worrying about what to wear to a ceremony, they spend their time studying for the final test to officially move them to the next phase in their education.
High school graduates aren’t the only students that get to participate in commencement ceremonies. Similar to the US, students in the Philippines participate in ceremonies for completing lower grade levels, including the elementary level. Graduations in the UK are typically held at the University level, but the actual ceremony is very similar to those held in the US where each student\'s name is called during their procession to the stage.
Commencement ceremonies,(whether they be for high school graduates or students at other grade levels), are considered a rite of passage all over the world. It’s fun to see how people in other cultures celebrate, and interesting to know than some don’t celebrate at all.
