This infographic provides a quick summary and understanding of asthma and its prevalence in the UK. It provides a brief explanation of what asthma is and how it affects the respiratory system causing symptoms such as wheezing, heavy breathing, and shortness of breath. It also details the importance of always having asthma medication (inhalers) at hand anywhere you go, and especially before any strenuous exercise.

It shows an estimation of what is spent each year by the health service to treat and care for those suffering from asthma and COPD. This infographic is to help raise awareness regarding the growing plight of asthma, and the need to make sure it is diagnosed correctly, promptly and that it is managed properly also. Almost 90% of asthma related deaths in the UK could have been prevented; therefore more information and effective management methods are needed to reduce this figure.
