The infographic shows how much water is used in a typical household and how you can cut down on your usage which will ultimately help to save you money. The average American is said to use up to 400 gallons of water a day with more than half of that usage coming directly from the bathroom. To help make things clearer, 400 gallons of water is equivalent to 13 filled bathtubs. Toilets take up 26.7 percent of water usage in the average household but the water usage can be lowered by installing a new toilet or adding a water bottle to your tank. The infographic also shows that faucets and showers account for a combined 32.5 percent of water usage. Faucets and showers can both be upgraded by adding a water aerator which the infographic explains in more detail. If you follow the guidelines and upgrade your bathroom you can save up to $350 a year!
