New rules established by the Department of Transportation (DOT) assert that airlines will soon need to instantly refund passengers upon flight cancelations, delays, or making significant changes; regardless of the reasons.

 

The refund, DOT states, will be required to be done in the form of cash or the original form of payment, and not vouchers. Passengers could also be offered alternatives such as travel credit, other transportation options, or another flight offered by the airline.

 

DOT highlights “significant changes” as some specific situations, in which cases passengers will be expected to be refunded. These scenarios can be, for instance, changes in the flight’s arrival or departure time by three or more hours for domestic flights and six hours for international flights, or a change in the departure or arrival airport.

Uber’s all-electric luxury rideshare service ‘Comfort Electric’ is coming to New York City for the first time after it was launched in 2022.

 

The Comfort Electric service is an extension of Uber Comfort, and has enabled Uber customers across 41 cities to book rides in premium priced EVs like Tesla, Polestar, and Ford Mustang Mach-E.

 

What prevented Comfort Electric from entering Uber’s biggest market, the NYC until now, has been a cap that was imposed by the city on the number of EV ridehail licenses given out by the Taxi and Limousine Commission. Since the cap has now been lifted, the service is now finally available to NYC customers.

CEO of Ford Jim Farley has revealed that the company developed a “skunkworks” lab two years ago – a start-up separate from the Ford mothership, which is aimed at producing electric vehicles at affordable prices. In 2023, Ford reported a loss of $1.6 billion and announced that it would reduce its expenditure on EVs, so it could fulfil customers’ needs in a better way. That is more than 300,000 more registered bikes than the second highest state, Florida, which comes in at just over 645,000. Other states to crack the top 10 most registered motorcycles include Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and New York. On the other side of the spectrum, it tends to state with lower overall populations have the lowest total in registered bikes. The state with the fewest registered bikes is Vermont (22,848), followed by Alaska, Wyoming, Delaware, and Rhode Island. No matter the state though, the number of on-road motorcycle registration has been steadily increasing over the years and will continue to be a prominent method of travel for many Americans.
