Spam callers can be more than just a nuisance. In some instances they can do real harm to their victims by tricking recipients into giving out sensitive information. Scammers are capable of tricking victims out of thousands of dollars. It’s important to recognize spam calls and try to limit exposure to them. They got their data from the Federal Communications Commission who tries to mitigate spam calls. Their data was adjusted per thousand people to determine which cities have the most spam calls.

AT&T plans to launch a new call screening service that enables businesses to make “branded calls.” This means that if a business signs up for the service, then a call that it makes to any AT&T user will show the receiver the name and logo of the business. 

 


The service is called “TruContact Branded Call Display” and it is available via credit reporting firm TransUnion. The technology is based on the STIR/SHAKEN protocol, which ensures that a number hasn’t been illegally hoaxed.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has recently issued a ban on some of China’s leading surveillance and telecom services, including Huawei, ZTE Corp, Dahua, Hytera, and Hikvision among others, that can no longer sell their telecom and video surveillance equipment the US.

 

While many are deeming the FCC’s decision as controversial, the agency has claimed that the attempts are in the country’s best interests in terms of national security.

Currently, there are several top telecommunication companies in the world that are being widely used to connect people in the same country as well as borders apart. Every year, the brand value of these companies keeps fluctuating depending on the demand and usage.

As the infographic below shows, the telecom infrastructure Chinese-based company, Huawei leads the ranking and is valued at $55.4 billion. Ironically, this value was calculated after the company has seen a negative 14.9 percent decline in its annual year growth. Despite the decline, Huawei is currently the company with the highest brand value.
