Despite having males mostly pointed at various positions including the C-Level ones, there have been seven females that were appointed as CEOs of the S&P 500. Unfortunately, the majority of industries in the world regardless of the country have gender discrimination while hiring new people as they prefer males over females to take the hold of a certain position. Whether it’s a beginner level post or a high-grade responsibility, females are considered incapable of holding the position.
Even though there has been a huge gender base role discrimination, some women have stood stronger enough throughout that no power could hold them back. A few of such powerful women, as mentioned in the infographic, have been successful in taking over the post of the Chief Executive Officer of S&P 500.
These talented women are working exceptionally hard and making some much-needed and effective changes in the corporate world. Along with that, they are also providing other capable women to achieve all the success they deserve.

The Federal Trade Commission held an antitrust investigative hearing this week, as a part of which, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had to testify.
According to sources familiar with the case, the FTC isn't likely to pursue an antitrust lawsuit against Facebook. The testimony was conducted under oath over the course of two days and would ultimately help the FTC and state attorneys general build a case against Facebook.
Earlier in July, Zuckerberg had testified before a House panel as part of an antitrust probe of the tech company and its acquisitions of Instagram and WhatsApp. Original text messages shared between Zuckerberg and Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom, and between Systrom and a venture capitalist were read out loud, hence arising questions for Zuckerberg asking him if he threatened to copy rivals if they didn't agree to sell to the tech giant. In response, Zuckerberg denied claims of threatening Systrom.
Pinterest has added a new person to its board of directors, Andrea Wishom, who is the president of a real state company, Skywalker Holdings. This move has made Wishom Pinterest's first black board member and third female board member. Michelle Wislon was Pinterest's first female board member. She was appointed by the company in 2016 and was also Pinterest's first outside board member.
Wishom expressed her aims as part of Pinterest's board of directors in a statement in which she said that she is particularly interested in Pinterest's expansion into content and media. She further expressed her interest in the company's vision to have a new kind of conversation between employees and the board to bring different perspectives to the table. Wishom is ready to address the challenges within the company and said that she is committed to listening and sharing her perspective and providing guidance.
CEO of Pinterest, Ben Silbermann, said that he appointed Wishom months after meeting with candidates. He said that she stood out for a number of reasons. Among the reasons were Wishom's expertise in creating positive and inspirational content for global audiences, her passion for building a company culture of respect, integrity, inclusion and support, and her vision for redefining the relationship between employees and the board.
For the past few years, women have played a major role in shaping a country's economy. A study showed that a considerable change was witnessed in the economic condition of the country when women were included in the workforce. It has also been highlighted through the infographic that women are relatively paid less than men with the same designation. This imbalance has been deep-rooted into the systems of countries that need to be changed at once.
The rate of female chief executive
In the US, Oregon is the only state which has the most number of female chief executives. Since Oregon has put its entire focus on bringing female entrepreneurs to the front line, it has the highest rate of females registered to the designation of Chief Executive. The records also reveal the fact that most of these women have at least a single child at home, and around 8% of the time, the age is less than 18 years.
This increase also far exceeds the average earnings of employees: CEOs estimate that AFL-CIO earn 287 times the average worker. This is an estimate of 30 to 1 compared to 1978. Naturally, the payment of a CEO differs greatly from the average person. They are not employees who are hourly or even strictly wage: instead they have various basic wages, bonuses and even stock options as compensation.
Ironically, many of the most important companies ' CEOs receive the least compensation. In our view, you will see that both Larry Page Alphabet and Jack Dorsey Twitter only received one dollar. In technology, when managers often hold big inventory quantities in the business and see an increase in stock value over salary for compensation, such a smaller CEO's compensation is more prevalent.
This year, only three of the top 25 CEOs came from technology: instead, the bulk came from medical, media and economic enterprises. The #1 place is CEO David Zaslav of Discovery Channel. Zaslav received almost twice as the second largest earner, Stephen F. Angel, from Linde Chemical Company with an award of $129.4 million.
