Ketchup is undoubtedly the most loved sauce in the world and there are several manufacturers that produce the most scrumptious ketchup. However, in America, there is one specific ketchup brand that the majority of Americans love. During the initial days of the Covid-19 pandemic, there had been a major shortage of food and other supplies in America and people had to struggle with their groceries however, with time, the issue started to resolve.
Now that the vaccine rollout has pace up in the States, most of the Americans breathed a sigh of relief as the worst of pandemic days are apparently over. Despite the comeback being made by various industries to compensate for the loss faced in the previous year, the country is still struggling with the shortage of their most beloved sauce i.e., ketchup.
Surprisingly, the shortage is not impacting the bottled ketchup in fact, the sachets that are commonly used during takeaway and deliveries by food outlets. According to the infographic, Heinz is the most loved and consumed ketchup in America the previous year and right now, it is the company suffering the shortage.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the price of ketchup sachets increased by 13 percent since January 2020. As per the research, Heinz is the most used ketchup in 2020 with approximately 200 million consumers. Followed by Hunt’s on the second with 84 million consumers. Other store brands’ ketchup was used by around 39.74 million people.
