What are the ages of top European’s tech companies?

The most widely used tech companies are based in the USA such as Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, Google, Tesla and a lot more. But, have you ever wondered if you ever use a European tech company? The infographic below ranks some tech giants based in European countries along with the number of years these have been in existence.

The oldest tech companies in the list include a Swedish telecom company, Ericsson and Finnish Nokia. Ericsson is also amongst the companies that rolled out first market telephones and its establishment dates back 145 years ago to 1876. Whereas, Nokia was initially a toilet paper manufacturing company that turned into an electronics firm somewhere in the 1960s. After an immense struggle of 30 years, the company became the leading phone manufacturing brand.
Some software and IT firms have also successfully made their way into the list of old companies such as Capgemini and SAP are the other two oldest companies. Capgemini has been in the industry for more than half a century i.e., 53 years whereas, the German SAP is about to hit half a century and is currently 49 years old.

Talking about younger companies, the most widely used online music streaming app Spotify which was born more than a decade ago i.e., 14 years and has gained millions of subscribers by now. Adyen, an electronic payment platform has been in existence for 15 years whereas, Doctolib, a Franco-German specialist in teleconsultation company, German mobile bank N26 and British online food delivery service Deliveroo are among the European “youngsters”.
