Some Twitter users have noticed their Twitter’s desktop dark
mode getting darker or changing to light mode. Twitter revealed that while the
change from blue to black was intentional, the switch from dark mode to light
was not.
The dark mode appearing darker was actually part of Twitter’s update to make its desktop version respond to the light and dark modes on the OS. Moreover, this color display setting can also be changed by selecting the Dim mode.
The dark mode that switched to light mode for some users,
however, was caused by a bug according to Twitter, and could have happened for
those users who had their Twitter set to Dim or Lights Out mode but had their
OS in light mode. The change can be reversed from the display settings.
