Reddit’s New “Image Galleries” Option Allows Users to Attach Multiple Images or GIFs in One Post - Visualistan -->

    Social Items

Just a few days ago, Reddit launched a new post option which will allow selected subreddit users to add up to 20 images or GIFs to their posts. In the new post format, you will find a counter on the top right of the main visual that you can scroll towards the side to see the other images in the collection.

According to Reddit, this feature was added as a request from the Style, DIY, and Food communities on the platform, in order to have a better way to display their ideas and techniques. With the multiple pictures/GIFs option, the communities can show step-by-step instructions in a single post, clarify captions, and share recipes and tutorials in a better way. Users can also include URLs and captions for each image/GIF in the post.

One limitation of this feature, however, is that Image Galleries can be turned on by the moderators of each subreddit only. Therefore, the option will not be available in all discussions.

Once you have selected up to 20 images or GIFs, you can rearrange them, include a post title, add an optional caption of up to 180 characters, or add URLs. You can then simply tap “post”. “Spoiler” or “Not Safe For Work” tags can also be applied to Image Galleries if needed.

This new addition is progress for Reddit as it has added to the its better functionality as a mainstream social media platform. The option has been made available to iOS and will soon be available for Android as well.
