When the lockdown was imposed in March due to the COVID-19 threat, everyone was forced back into their homes to wait out the storm. Businesses, stores, offices, and even educational institutes were closed down to ensure human safety. With everyone stuck at home, the media came out as the unsung hero as it allowed us to stay connected to the outside world.

The internet and other media enabled everyone to get through their days because they had nothing else to do. Internet was used from businesses to conduct their business, and educational institutes carried out online classes. The media consumption has changed amidst the coronavirus pandemic – more increased explicitly due to it.
It was made evident with social media polls that more people are spending time-consuming media than before. The consumption is expected to increase by 60% more amidst the corona crisis. On average, Americans are now spending more than 12 hours staring at the screen and consuming media in different ways. Many services had to tune down their bandwidth for sustainability.
