The Christmas traditions checklist

Despite celebrating on the same day (December 25), each American family has its own unique tradition that they follow at Christmas. Whether it’s some specific food, carol singing at night, leaving a plate of cookies for Santa, or attending the annual Christmas Mass – the customs vary according to the ethnicity, culture, and values.

But of course, there are some Christmas traditions that are a staple part of every family. This primarily includes picking and decorating a tree, giving presents, and hanging stockings.

Statista also took a Holiday Survey, where they asked more than 1,000 adults regarding the essentials of this holiday. As predicted, 64% of Americans think the ‘tree’ is the most important part of Christmas while watching holiday movies tops the list of 56% respondents.
When asked about the things that they look forward to during the holidays, almost 83% of the survey participants said that they are eager to spend quality time with their family and friends. Americans also said that they enjoy giving presents to their loved ones – rather than receiving.
