According to a survey conducted by Fixed, majority
of US-based adults find online streaming more interesting than traditional –
cable network. In the survey, 82 % of the subscribers agree that video
streaming networks such as Netflix, YouTube, and Vimeo
are better options for entertainment and quality videos.
On the other hand, more than 65% of the TV cable subscribers
also said online video streaming platforms provide more entertainment.
Interestingly, the recently held Emmys also issued the same
verdict, where shows by premium services like HBO, Netflix, and Amazon won most
of the awards. In fact, the Emmys received around 137 nominations from HBO and
118 from Netflix while NBC and CBS received 58 and 43 submissions respectively.
When inquired whether this is just a passing trend, industry experts say that the interest in
premium service is unlikely to die down soon. This is mainly because they are
paying a good amount of money for this service and receiving content according
to their demands.
