Are Internships the New Interview
Internships are becoming increasingly popular for college students around the United States. College graduates of the past focused their time and energy on perfecting their interview and resume. Current college students (and those preparing to graduate soon), are still focusing on them, but have shifted their main focus to internships instead. Internships are becoming just as important as your GPA and interview skills, making one wonder, “Are internships the new interview?”

According to a survey by Internships, 69% of companies with over 100 employees offered their interns full-time jobs in 2012, and seven out of 10 interns surveyed were hired by the companies for which they interned. Each company is looking for different skillsets when hiring interns- but as a general rule, they are similar to what companies look for in full-time employees. Students can find internships through their college’s career center or online via internship-specific websites and social media accounts. Learn more about internships becoming the new interview here at eLearners
