Pretty much every business and sports event came to pause earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. NBA, MLB, NHL, NFL, and other major sporting tournaments like UEFA champions league were also stopped for safety concerns.

With COVID cases being a little stabilized and people taking precautions, many sporting events have now resumed or restarted in the last few months. Among them were NBA and MLB which came back to the fans’ screens who were very excited about it.

Drug and alcohol have been a big problem in sports. Athletes and drugs have never been a good mix ever since. With how driven an athlete is in their everyday life—constantly dealing with their routines of training, nutrition, and more training—if they get a taste of something like cocaine or marijuana, sometimes they’ll find that their personalities are just as addictive for the bad things as they are for the good. Every athlete shares the same story: One famous athlete could’ve been in the Hall of Fame if not for their dependence on illegal substances.

Times are changing. We have advanced as a society in general, and the sporting community is not exempt from this. Generally, we see our society advances as the latest technology, faster internet, or improved transportation. Sports have also evolved over the years. The style of play and athletic records have evolved each year for each sport. You may have also noticed advances made to athletic uniforms. Over the years, the NBA Jersey has evolved. The style, the material, the sponsoring companies have all changed over time. Fabric has evolved from thick polyester, to lighter weight, more breathable materials. Shorts have gone from short to long based on athlete preferences. This past season we saw another change as the Golden State Warriors added sleeves to their jersey. These changes have helped with the comfort of the athletes and helps aid in making them perform to the best of their ability. Athlete comfort has increased, and styles have also conformed to the decade fashion.
