In the study by Playground Equipment, we will tell you about all the brands Mattel owns and outline when Mattel bought those brands. When we talk about Mattel, the first brand that comes to mind is Barbie. Barbie was founded originally by Mattel's owners. Ruth Handler and her husband Elliot created and invented the iconic toy figure. Both are co-founders of Mattel. They took the idea of Barbie from a German toy doll named Build Lilly. However, in 1961, a copyright came, and another company sued Barbie, claiming it was a copied version of their doll. However, the case was settled, and Mattel got Barbie's copyright patents in 1964. Fisher Price is another brand that Mattel now owns. American Girl, another well-known brand, became one of Mattel's subsidiaries in 1998. Match Box was bought by Mattel in 1997. Coming on to the perfect and ultimate family game UNO, Mattel also owns this brand and it was acquired in 1992.
Mattel is an established company with several well-known brands.
