Meta is continuing to make efforts to improve its short form video feature, Reels, on both Instagram and Facebook. Recently, the company has announced new Reels updates, which include new insight options, an Add Yours sticker, an Auto-Create tool, and expansion of the Stars donation option.

Meta has introduced new performance insights for Reels on Creator Studio. The insights include Reach, Minutes Viewed, and Average Watch Time. This could assist the process of understanding for creators how their content is performing, what elements in it are working, and what needs to be changed.

The Add Yours sticker is not itself a new feature on Meta’s platforms, as we have been seeing it on Stories. However, it is the first time that Meta has introduced it to Reels, which means that users can now post Add Yours questions via Reels clips and also view the responses to the questions.

The Auto-Create tool is designed to help users convert their archived Stories into Reels videos automatically via a new ‘Create from Your Story Archive’ prompt available in the Reels creation process. This could be a handy tool and a simplified way for users to utilize their existing Stories content for Reels.

In addition to this, Meta is expanding its existing Stars donation option to Reels across Facebook. The company had released this monetization tool originally for creators to help them gain profit out of short form content where insertion of ads to generate revenue is not an option. According to Meta, creators must have maintained at least 1,000 followers over the last 60 days to be able to access the feature.

Finally, Meta has also considered making those Reels tools available on Facebook Reels that were earlier only available on Instagram Reels, including the Remix option. Additionally, the option to cross post from Instagram to Facebook is also now available.
