Twitter is bringing a new option for Communities that allows
admins to pin tweets at the top of the Community timeline. The pinned tweet
would remain displayed at the top of the Community feed, which would prompt
engagement within the tab.
“Some Tweets deserve the spotlight, which is why mods and admins can now pin their Community Tweets on web,” Twitter says about the new option. According to the company, it was something that users had been requesting for.
Since Communities is not much of a successful feature on Twitter,
the platform is developing ways to boost audience engagement with it. It would
be interesting to see if the new pinning option would be useful for that
purpose.
The ‘Pin to Community Timeline’ option is currently accessible
on Twitter web and would also be soon available on both iOS and Android.
