Paid parental leave varies greatly around the world. While some countries allow more than a year off to care for a new child, other countries offer little to no paid leave.

  1. Estonia: 84.4 weeks
  2. Bulgaria: 69.7 weeks
  3. Hungary: 68.2 weeks
  4. Lithuania: 62 weeks
  5. Slovakia: 53.1 weeks
Europe leads the world in providing sufficient parental leave for new parents. In fact, all countries that rank in the top 10 of countries with the most weeks of parental leave are located in Europe.
